Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at veterinarycommunityoutreach@gmail.com or on Facebook messenger if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Veterinary Community Outreach (VCO) is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization originally based out of Charles Town, WV, with our new brick and mortar location being in Berryville, VA. We began working with Jefferson County Community Ministries in 2019, hosting one vaccine clinic a month at their facility. In 2021, we moved into our own tiny facility in Berryville, where we host 3-4 vaccine clinics a month. We offer low-cost vaccines to everyone and their cats and dogs.

We currently offer the following vaccines and services for cats and dogs:

Rabies $10

Feline Distemper (FVRCP) $15

Canine Distemper (DAPP or DHPP) $15

Bordetella (dogs only) $18

Microchipping (no additional cost for registration) $20

Deworming for puppies and kittens, or as needed, complimentary.

We DO NOT see sick pets (no ear infections, allergies, vomiting, diarrhea, etc). We DO NOT offer grooming services (including nail trims). We only offer preventative care with the above listed vaccines at this moment.

Legally, all dogs and cats must have their rabies vaccine current and updated, which can be given at the age of 12 weeks old and have adult incisors growing in. DAPP/DHPP, or distemper, is considered a core vaccine for dogs and helps protect against common and sometimes fatal diseases such as Parvovirus, Distemper, Adenovirus, and Parainfluenza. Dogs who are boarded, go to a groomer, or training, are often required to have Bordetella, which protects against kennel cough. Please check out our "Education" tab to locate some additional information regarding dog vaccines.

Legally, all dogs and cats must have their rabies vaccine current and updated, which can be given at the age of 12 weeks old and when they are at least 3lbs. FVRCP (feline distemper) is generally recommended as a core vaccine, as it protects against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia. There are other vaccines that are recommended depending on each cats lifestyle, but these are the only vaccines we currently offer. Please check out our "Education" tab to locate some additional information regarding cat vaccines.
